Orbs ARE NOT Evidence
One of the most bountiful sources of “paranormal evidence” is found in orbs. Orbs usually show up on camera as balls or trails of light in photos and video. Many people think that orbs are ghosts, or balls of energy but that’s not what these images are showing.
Orbs are most often created when light from a camera bounces off dust particles in the air. These specks of dust reflect the light back at the camera creating an exaggerated image of ghostly orbs. When people investigate these reportedly haunted locations, it’s usually inside an old, dusty building. Walking around kicks up the dust creating many of these orbs. The same thing can happen outside when pollen, small water droplets or other small particulate crosses in front of the camera.
Many people see faces and other images inside these orb pictures. This must indicate a paranormal explanation right? If you stare at anything long enough you start to see things that aren’t there. When you look up at the sky and see the shape of an animal or a persons face in the clouds, a Rorschach test. It’s all matrixing. Our brains are evolved to look for patterns and familiar things. That’s why you can stare at these things and see things that arent there, just like faces in orbs.
When you come across an orb video/photo online or if you even take one yourself, consider the following.
- Is there any chance there was dust in this room or outside? (there is always a chance)
- Did you see it with your own eyes? Or only on camera?
- Was it self illuminating? Or was it only reflecting light?
- Throw it away. Even if it was paranormal there isn’t any discernible way to tell the difference.
It’s always important to keep an open mind but at the same time you have to be skeptical. This will ensure that only the most credible evidence gets to see the light of day, and not phony pictures of dust ghosts.
